Michellita Taylor, MS, CCC-SLP, is a professional singer, author, media personality, licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, and owner of Taylor Made Voices LLC. She has been a practicing therapist for over seven years in Jacksonville, Florida, where she resides. As a speech-language pathologist, Michellita is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and counseling both pediatric and adult patients with communication impairments related to voice, respiration, language, articulation, swallowing, and cognition. She is excited to have recently transitioned into the role of Corporate Speech-Language Pathologist where she provides elective therapy services that assistance adults with specific areas of speech, language and voice that enhances their desire to communicate effectively and appropriately in various situations.
The vision for Taylor Made Voices LLC. is to produce fearless, bold, and authentic communicators that feel and sound confident. The mission is to partner with professional communicators and companies while identifying areas that corporate speech therapy can curate communication standards that are unique to the client that results in an honest and confident exchange of ideas and produces intentional motives and outcomes.
Michellita holds a master’s degree in Communicative Disorders from Nova Southeastern University and an undergraduate degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from the University of North Florida, graduating with honors from both institutions.
Her education in Communications established the groundwork for her broadcast journalism career, starting as a premiere news anchor at The Potter's House International Ministries. She went on to host the talk show "Joy in Our Town" on TBN and made regular appearances on Channel 12's "First Coast Living" as the etiquette expert.
Michellita completed her Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2017 and was featured in the college’s publication for her community work in 2018. She went on to work as a school-based speech therapist for six years, working with students with speech and language impairments. She received her Supervisory Certification in 2023 from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Additionally, Michellita has worked at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, University Crossing Skilled Nursing Facility, and with Select Rehabilitation delivering compassionate therapy to adult patients.
Michellita is no stranger to executing communication enhancement techniques and education, having spent nine years as an English, Speech, Bible, Finance, and Etiquette teacher at The Potter’s House Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition to being a classroom instructor, she also managed the title of Activities Coordinator, planning and facilitating school-wide events such as proms, banquets, pep rallies, and the Miss PHCA Pageant, which she founded.
With more than 14 years of educational experience, Michellita also worked at the Beverly Institute as a Speech Assistant and Reading Coach, providing instruction to exceptional middle and high school students. She then served as a Reading Interventionist at Somerset Academy 2014.
Expanding upon her communicative talent, Michellita’s singing voice has been heard around the world. During her 25 plus years of singing, she has been afforded the opportunity to sing background for artist such as Lisa McClendon, Todd Galberth, Israel Houghton, CeCe Winans, and many more. In 2007, Michellita performed in Lugano, Switzerland, during the annual Blues to Bop Music Festival. Presently she continues to sing as a Worship Leader at various churches in Jacksonville, Florida.
Prior to starting Taylor Made Voices LLC, Michellita founded Masterpieces Consulting Solutions Inc., specializing in modeling, etiquette, and professional development. Her passion for helping others with confidence, personal appearance, and professionalism led her to direct a variety of fashion shows, etiquette programs, and create programs such as “Hoops to Heels” and “Everyday Etiquette”. This passion stems from her love of pageantry, which began when she was crowned Miss Sandalwood in 1997. She later achieved runner-up and Most Talented titles in the Miss Jacksonville, Miss Duval County, Miss First Coast, and Miss Delta Teen pageants. Her pageant experience inspired her to start the Miss Charisma Scholarship Pageant in 2012, which offers specialized training in modeling, etiquette, and speaking for girls ages 6-18 years old.
Michellita is committed to women’s empowerment in her local community prompted her to produce the 2018 “You Sparkle Holiday Honors” event. This event awarded local women who are trailblazers and game changers, making a huge impact in the lives of our local community. From founding school leaders, pastors and councilwomen, Michellita was able to honor and empower others to do more.
In 2020, Michellita published her first book, “My Life, God’s Masterpiece,” which is available wherever books are sold. This literary work gives readers a closer insight that they are enough and to reject the notion that complacency is home and that God’s will is an attainable goal.
In the spring of 2024, Michellita was presented with the incredible opportunity to host her own radio talk show on The Victory Station WCGL AM 1360/FM 94.7 located in Jacksonville, Florida. Every Saturday from 1-2pm, local and national listeners can tune to here the “In the Know” radio show where Michellita highlights community events, conducts inspirational conversations and entertaining dialogue aimed to inspire, inform and entertain.
Michellita was recently crowned Miss Black Florida USA 2024-2025, an extraordinary accomplishment as the oldest contestant and a proud mother of a three-year-old. With grace, determination, and passion, Michellita is using her reign to promote her platform, Thrive After Baby, which focuses on supporting the well-being and empowerment of moms. Through this initiative, she aims to connect with mothers, build bridges within the community, and provide resources that enhance their lives while helping them pursue personal and family goals. Michellita is excited to champion this cause, inspiring women to thrive with confidence and purpose.
